Rigaudon de Travers

Roughly translating to “Askew” or “Uneven” Rigaudon, Riguadon de Travers experiments with odd time signatures and phrase lengths. Drawing inspiration from Victor Ewald and Malcom Arnolds Brass Quintets, it contrasts both the playful and mourning characteristics of the ensemble.

The piece is dedicated to the composer’s nephew, Everett Wilkins, who passed away while Fausett composed this piece in 2021.
